i MR. MCANN FOR GRAND NATIONAL. New York. September 3. Word has been received that Howard Lewis, Jr., trainer of J. E. Wideners racing stable in France, Is beginning to consider the training of Mr. McCann for next years Grand National at Liverpool. The Grand National was won by the American-bred Rubio, a brother to Sombrero, a couple of seasons back, and Lewis considers Mr. McCann a better horse than Rubio ever Was.
