TEXAS-BREDS CONTINUE TO WIN. Kl Paso, Tex., January 0. A goodly crowd attended the Juarez races today and witnessed the running of a fair card, the features of which were a hnndicap for throe-year-olds at six furlongs and a race for two-vear-olds. Flying Wolf again demonstrated Ids claim to being a colt of class by picking up his weight, racing his opposition into early submission and winning with the greatest ot ease. Another Texas-bred youngster was returned winner or the two-year-old purse in Closer, from the stable of .1. F. Newman. The other races proved interesting and. as four favorites and two well-backed second choices scored, the public had the better of the argument. Pat Dunne sprung a surprise in Sebago, winner of the third race and from the impressive manner in which he won, it may be taken for granted that he can dereat better ones. AV G. Yanke rejoined the ranks of the layers todav, Hulling it dihicult to win from the ground. YV. T. Anderson has acquired the filly Ldith Inez, having purchased her from II. It. Brandt. Jockeys Ganz and J. Parker were given ten days suspension by starter Cassidy for disobedience at the harrier today. , ., ,, I. II. AVheatcroft is saving his AAoolsthorpe colt, Marlborough, witli designs on the Juarez Derby, down for decision on Sunday, March 10, the closing dav of the present winter mooting here, and this niueh-talked-of maiden is also eligible to the next Kentucky Derby. Though he has never yet raced. Mr. AVheatcroft believes Marlborough is the best horse he ever owned. Not so long ago lie refused Sl.OOO for him, and since lias shown no disposition to even put a price on him. He is a rare individual in looks and a royally-bred colt, being out of Car-qna. bv Adieu, a son of St. Simon.
