TAMPA HAS A LADIES DAY. Tampa, Fla., January 0. Ladies day augmented the attendance at the West Tamiia track today with a large number of the fair sex, some of tlieni being lirst time visitors to a race track. They extracted great enjoyment from the sport and voiced their approval in unstinted fashion. Threatening weather alone prevented a record being established in the m.-vtter of attendance. The racing was spirited and fairly interesting. Form followers fared badly, most of the first choices going down to defeat. Alter the Onisti or the fourth race G. Hosmer. owner of Complete, claimed Sandiver, but the judges held the elaini void because of its having leeii Hied witli the secretary Instead of witli tin; clerk of the scales, as the rules of the Southern Jockey Club require. The judges at lirst issued an order for the horse to Mr. IJosmor, thinking that the .claim had Uen made in due form, but subsequently revoked the order on the protestor owner Hayes on the ground of irregularity.
