MINTYRE RIDES WELL AFTER SUSPENSION. San Francisco, Cal., January 7. Jockey J. Mcln tyre, recently restored to good standing by the Kentucky State Racing Commission, resumed riding at Oakland today and carried off the riding honors by landing three winners. All of them -were favorites. Mclutyre rode Arionette, favorite for the fea-1ur eraee, but she evidently has had too much racing, as she weakened after running in front, and Pride of Lismbre won from Daddy lip and Fernando. Oakland took another purse, with Vanir second. A. L. Denny bid up Bambro from 00 to ,000 and secured him. Michael Angelo is again in the Mackenzie stable, as trainer White advanced his price from ,200 to ,400. and C. 1. Lamar let him go. Melton Street, a 40 to 1 chance, proved the surprise of the day. The .Mackenzie colt was starting lor the first time here and won handily. The anti-betting bill introduced simultaneously in both branches of the legislature by Senator Walker and Assemblyman Young, are of the most drastic nature and are designed to put a stop to betting of all kinds. Imprisonment from thirty days to a year is the penalty witli alternative fine. The bill amends the penal code so as to cover six classes of persons first, whoever engage In poohelllng or bookmaking with or without writing: second, whoever keeps or occupies any room, vessel, place or enclosure of any kind with a book or lxoks. apparatus or paraphernalia for recording any letting or for selling pools; tldrd, whoever receives, holds or forwards any money or consideration of value that is staked, pledged, wagered or is to le staked, etc., or is offered for that purpose: fourth, whoever records or registers any bets; fifth, the owner, lessee or occupant of any place or vessei. who permits it to be used for the purpose prohibited by the bill; sixth, whoever lays, makes, offers or accepts any bet. Aristotle, an old cripple owned by Barney Schrci-bor, broke down so badly in a recent work-out that it became necessary to destroy him. "Fred Foisting, who raced Salali here last year, came up from Juarez to attend his fathers funeral. Hannah Louise and Laura Clay, a pair of bad actors at the post, have been placed on the schooling list. Oakland is almost a ringer for his half-brother, Frauk Ruhstaller. H. A. l.edwell has decided to throw his horses out of training for the present and has arranged to turn them out at the Oakwood Stock Ranch at Lincoln. Placer County. This is the Lawrence and Comstock ranch, where Minnedocia. Prestolite., Buckthorn, Bey Hindoo, La Beine Hindoo and other good ones were bred. Mr. Bedwell has not abandoned the hope that the Kentucky State Bacing Commission will yet permit him to sell his horses before they become useless from old age.
