NOTES OF THE TURF. The horses of M. A. Veil-Picard, the leading owner of steeplechasers in France, have earned 67,500 in the last two seasons. Mr. Fairies Bayardo has been sent to the stud and it is already announced that his book is full for 1911 at a fee of ,505. F. T. Wood owns two brothers to Frank Mullens, one a two-year-old and the other a yearling. The 1911 two-year-old he has had gelded, but the yearling is a colt. Fred Taral has arranged to train for Herr A. von Pechy in Austria-Hungary. Taral was formerly first jockey for Herr von Pechv and won the German Derby for him in 1902 on Macdonald, son of Chislu-hursr. Jerry Edwards died at the General Hospital at Toronto, Out., on Monday last, lie was well known among race followers as a valet for jockev Jinimv Walsh and C. Corder. He originally came from Brooklyn, X. Y. He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery at Toronto. The running Futurity of the Winuepeg Industrial Exhibition for foals of 1910 received sixteen entries. This event was open only to horses foaled west of the great lakes. Howard S. Kelston. Rainbow, Gold-crest and Cycladcs are among the thoroughbred sires represented, and Mr. Dale has nominated a half-brother to his Epsom Derby candidate, Kel dOr, by Maceo. The Speed Committee has decided to open a Futurity for toals of 1911 similar to those offered the past two years.
