TAMPAS FEATURE RACE A FIZZLE. Tampa, Fin., January 7. Unfavorable conditions brought a big slump in attendance today. Drizzling rain fell throughout the afternoon and was accompanied by penetrating cold. The feature race was a farcical affair, three of the five starters coming to grief. Jack Baker and Dr. Heard finished first and second respectively and were the only ones to go the course without mishap. Niblick was given third money. He fell, but was remounted. Octopus, after coming to grief at the third hurdle, was remounted, but again fell at the last fence. He was then remounted by C. Wilson and finished far in advance if Niblick, but a shortage of twenty pounds resulted in his failure to get any portion of the purse. Tottcn, his original rider, sustained a bad fracture of the collarlKHie and severe bruises. Catherine Hampson showed a meritorious performance In the opener by leading home four other two-year-olds, including Orlando Lady, a previous winner. Speculation was. again light and the outcome; favored the public. j
