HUMOR OF THE TURF. Tito Indian rider, "Sitting Bull" Johnson, is somewhat of a wag. An owner told him to got his mount off in trout the other day and then take the horse back and avoid the early pace. "Whats the use of getting off in front if you dont Intend to stay there?" said Johnson, as he mounted his horse. He did got off in front and, not heeding the owners instructions, led all the way. He and Starter Cassidy " had a little repartee at the post in another race. Said Cassidy: "Im not riding that horse or else I would be able to show you how to get him away." "Wish, you was," said Johnson. "I would a good deal rather bo starting than riding him," he added. Juarez correspondent Louisville Courier-Journal.
