MARBLES BREAKS DOWN AT TAMPA. Tauipa, Fla.. January 24. The speedy sprinter. Marbles, probably terminated her raeiug career this afternoon by an apparent breakdown in the race in which she was a starter. Kitty K., a newcomer from Jacksonville, took the purse in the juvenile nice, the first one at three-eighths around a turn decided here this seasou. She was backed extensively by her connections. The judges let jockeys Winkfiold and Wrispen off witli a caution following their whip duel of yesterday. A. II. Barney, of Providence, It. I., and owner of several horses trained by J. K. Frayling, was among todays arrivals. E. T. Shipp and Grandissimo. owned by G. W. Waggoner, arrived today from Jacksonville. F. D. Weir will send Hclene and several others from Jacksonville to be raced hero under the direction of W. P. Kuchen. J. J. Flannigan intends to bring here several horses he luis at Jacksonville. He came in advance with Kitty K., winner of todays two-year-old race. Jockey-"Ramsey has heon sent -to Juarez to join his contract employer, William Walker. The ltoy was riding here under an arrangement with the judges by which he was allowed to accept mounts until he had accumulated enough mouey to defray his expenses to the Mexican track.
