NO QUORUM OF COMMISSION. Governing Body of Kentucky Racing Will Meet Again On Monday A Clash in Dates. Lexington, Ky.. January 24. There was no quorum for a meeting of the Kentucky State Racing Commission today and postponement until Monday next was announced by Vice-Chairman Young. Chairman Clay is still in Florida and Messrs. Camden and Long are in Xew -York. Lexingtons application for spring dates, originally made for thirteen days, has been amended to include eleven days, beginning Saturday. April 20. aud ending Thursday, May 11. This is in order to give Louisville Saturday. May 13 for its opening with the Kentucky Derby as its feature. Ixmisvillo has not made its application in writing yet, but Secretary Bidwcll says President Charles F. Grainger told him they would ask for twenty-five days. This would set the closing date at Churchill Downs for Saturday, June 10. Latonia has in an application for thirty-one days beginning Decoration Day, Tuesday. May 30. and ending Tuesday. July 4. Ixjuisvillc and Latonia may be able to reach a compromise between now and Monday, otherwise the matter will be left to the commission for settlement.
