AMERICAN SHIPMENT REACHES AUSTRALIA. . Some months ago the proprietors of the Allendale Stock Farm despatched Mr. Robcrtsou. on another trip to America with instructions to buy more high-class trotters ami, also, if good thoroughbreds could be obtained at a reasonable -price, as seemed likely owing to the legislation in America having practically killed horse racing in the east, to secure a nuniler. Mr. Robertson has notified his employers that he has been successful in his quest. He has thirty thoroughbreds on the steamship Indralema, which arrived at Frcmantle on Wednesday, December 7. All the animals were bred in Kentucky. Despite heavy weather in the Southern Ocean only two hoi-sos died. Among the thoroughbred racing stock are two mares with foals, and both of these are performers. One Is Hasty Agnes, a winner from live and a half furlongs to a mile. These mares are in foal to St. Savin son of St. Simon. The majority of the horses are yearlings or two-year-olds; but, as American racing time dates from January 1. they will by the time they are out of quarantine be two and three years old. The object of the proprietors of the farm is, after the horses are out of quarantine to condition them with a view to finding purchasers after showing what speed they possess. Australasian, Melbourne.
