B00KMAKING HELD LEGAL IN VIRGINIA. Norfolk, Va., January 24. Holding the Virginia law against poolselling and book making in horse racing to Ik- defective in so far as it applies to lrookmaking because of the fact that the title of the act refers alone to poolsolling, Police Judge Duncan today dismissed a warrant against Sidney Hof-heimcr, charged witli bookniakiug In the lobby of a local hotel on the result of the Jacksonville races. Witnesses testified that they placed bets with Uof-heinier, who, it is claimed, conducted a handbook.
