BARKLEY began slowly, but gained steadily and, finishing with a rush after coming to the outside when entering the homestretch, got up in the last fifty yards and won going away. SUREGET, off forwardly, rushed into a good.lcad in the first furlong and set a fast pace, but was tiring at the finish. GOIXOXDA was a forward contender from the start and showed much more early speed than usual. FIREWOOD was cut off in the first sixteenth and pulled up. AUNT K AT 1-3 was much used in fcrcing the early pace and tired in the stretch, but her rider was not of much, help when it came to the finish FOOTPAD, crowded back in the first sixteenth and forced to work his way up on the inside, was a. fast gaining third.
