NORFOLKS ENDORSEMENT OF RACING. Norfolk. Va., March 22. That the business community of Norfolk is cordially supporting Robert Levy in bis effort to promote racing here is evident from the following sets of resolutions adopted by the Board of Trade, of which William T. Anderson is secretary, and the Tidewater Hotel Association, el which Bernard J. Lowenberg is president, attest. The Board of Trade resolutions are couched in the following language: "Whereas. The spring and fall meetings of the Jamestown Jockey Club in 1910, held under the management of Robert Levy, proved a great benefit to Norfolk and vicinity, both financially and from an advertising standpoint; and "Whereas. Mr. Levy proposes to hold a spring meeting of the said Jamestown Jockey Club during the coming month, that Is. from April 5 to Aprii 20 inclusive; therefore, bo it "Resolved. That the board of directors of the Board of Trade and Business Mens Association heartily indorses this meeting and not only pledges the support and assistance of this organization, but requests tho various organizations of the city to give their co-operation in order that It may be even more successful than tho meetings heretofore held." The resolution adopted by the Norfolk Tidewater Hotel Association is as rollows: "Resolved. That the race meetings as conducted in the spring and fall of l.HO under the management of Robert Levy were of great benefit to this city fad section; therefore, tin- Norfolk-Tidewater Hotel Association indorses the race meeting to be held in Norfolk In April. 1911, under Mr. Levys management and bespeaks for Mr. Levy the help and cooperation of our citizens for- a successful meeting."
