t RACING GOSSIP -FROM THE EAST. New York, March 27. The horses of James McLaughlin. George J. Kraus and William Jackson were shipped from Gravesend to the Jamestown Jockey Clubs course at Norfolk tonight by boat. The" McLaughlin shipment numbered four and are as follows: Forester, b. g, 3. by Wild Mint FlicJ;-amaroo, half-brother to Fauntlorov: Inwood, In g. 2. by .Sir Dixon Marie Decker: Delightful, b. f, 2, by Gone Coon Chiclets, and Mollie Kearney, ch. f, 2. by Sir Dixon Olga Nethersole. Mollie Kearnev Is a sister to Nethermost. She is a decidedly handsome filly and moves with a typical Sir Dixon- gait. Mr. McLaughlin, who rode her sire in many of his hril-liant victories, has a high opinion of the filly. Delightfuls dam. Chiclets, was a useful racer in the dark blue silks of David Gideon, who bred the mare at his stud in New Jersey. George J. Kraus and William Jacksons consignments will he handled by trainer Rob Kean. - -Mr. Kraus colors will be home by Sam K., a two-year-old bay colt by Sir Dixon Semper dOr. The cMt has worked fast for three-eighths and with barrier education will be ready for the races. Annie Sellers, a three-year-old chestnut flllv apd Kilderkin, a four-yearrold brown gelding by Hamburg Kildeer, are the members of the .Tackspn string pointed for early racing. Annie Sellers worked three-quarters in 1:23 a few days ago and a couple of shar: trials will find her on edge. A dozen horses, the property of John E. Madden, arrived at the Gravesend track Friday. The shipment was made from Hamburg Place. Mr. Maddens big breeding establishment at Lexington. In the collection are eleven two-year-olds and the three- " year-old hay filly Flora, hy The Scribe Flora Pomona. The juvenile division consists of nine fillies and two colts. They are by Ogden and Planudes and possess the earmarks of stake caliber. . William G. Walker, who trained for Mr. Madden last season, is in charge of this bunch. Mr. Walker remained at Hamburg Place during the winter and, although these two-year-old colts and fillies Were not tried last fall, he thinks highly of them. They have been under saddle since January and have "had a good deal of jogging aud cantering exercise of late.
