TAMPA HORSES OFF FOR PENSACOLA. Tampa, Fla., March 27. The special horse train for Pensacola, consisting of ten horse cars, two sleepers, two passenger coaches and two baggage cars, departed yesterday afternoon and carried with ,it most of the horsemen who engaged in the racing here. In tlte consignment were about 120 horses, which, witli the previous shipments to Pensdcoja and expected additions from Moncrief Park, will provide the material for tilling the races at the Gulf City track during the fifteen days that the racing is scheduled to last. While announcement has beil made that this would be the length of the meeting, horsemen are sanguine that the meeting will be extended at least ten days longer. General Manager Strode lias wound up the business connected with tho Tampa track anil has departed for Pensacola ,to attend to lie details of the opening. According to retort. the track is in excellent condition to race over and the plant is ready foe the reception of the horsemen.
