FRIEND HARRY VICTIM OF JOURNEY. Only Horse to Succumb Among Several Stricken With Sickness En Route from Florida. Louisville, Ky., April 7. All of the horses that arrived here from Juarez and Jacksonville on special trains are now quartered at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park. Those from the Mexican course reached hero in excellent condition, Alma Boy, in J. W. Youngs stable, being the only sick racer. His ailment is not serious. Those from Jacksonville were not so fortunate. Working Iad. a two-year-old belonging to W. Gcrst, and Elizabethan, owned by W. O. .Topi in, are seriously sick, but they will recover, it is believed. Friend Harry, owned by W. II. Fizer, was attacked en route with aeute pncti-monia and he died -today at the Downs. Edward Alvey paid ,500 for htm as a two-year-old. Round the World, the Derby favorite, is in superb condition, and if the track dries out tomorrow, she will be given some lively work. At the last moment lefore leaving Juarez Barney Sehrciber ordered Jack Atkin sent to Woodland Farm to be retired to the stud. The veteran Peter Whinner has a promising two-year-old here by Star Shoot, which helias named Sonada. Mr. Winimer is at present handling J. H. Keed, Ed Morgan. Captain .Morris. Snap and a- two-year-old colt by Broomstick, all of which are owned by neudcrson and llogan. He is caring for the live horses until Miller Henderson arrives here from Santa Anita Park with others of the string. Seventeen horses will be brought from California April 13. Jockey E. Martin went from Juarez to Oklahoma to visit relatives. He will be here April 25. Martin is under contract to ride for W. J. Speirs. Jockey M. McGee, who will ride Round the World in the Derby, has gone to Covington to remain until the Lexington races begin. J. C. Calm, who won the Kentucky Derby with Typhoon II., disposed of all of his horses before leaving Juarez with the exception of the stake winner. Mockler. Mockler is here ready to race. Mr. Calm expects to buy several horses. W. F. Schulte has three horses at. Churchill Downs, including Zicnap. now aged eight years, King Olympian, which is training excellently, and a two-year-old out of Grand Mary. Gliding Belle will race no more. She will lie sent to the stud. W. C. Scott is here with Sir Ifcirry. Fred Ilaiilou is iu charge of Pat Dunnes string, including Sabasro, Pilain. Damson aud two others. Mr. Dunne will arrive here Monday from Kansas City.
