SENATOR BRACKETTS LATEST MOVE. Albany, N. Y., April 7. Senator Brackett, Republican leader in the state senate, is at work on a bill deigned to overcome the objections raised to the drastic provisions of the so-called directors liability law. Senator Brackett was chairman of the senate committee which reported the law passed last year holding the trustees or directors of racing associations personally liable for gambling, which has been blamed for the abandonment of the sport in this state. The Republican leader docs not believe the legislature will repeal the law, but has suggested the enactment ofa law providing for the appointment by the governor of special ollicers whose duty it shall be to patrol the grounds and prevent gambling at the, races. These ollicers. rather than the directors, "would be held accountable.
