WORKING OF RACERS GOES ON. Heavy Track Conditions Fail to Interfere with Training Operations at Churchill Downs. Louisville, Ky., April 1.".: Heavy . rains, deluged Douglas Park and Churchill Downs, lint scores of racers took their exercise today, although fast trials were impossible. Bound the World, the Derby favorite, worked a mile at a two-minute gait. Captain Carniody was walked and trotted for two miles, then cantered slowly around the course. Of the older liorses. llarrigau and Angcius worked five furlongs in 1:07; J. C. Calms Mockler went a half iu 50; Sebago, owned by Pat Dunne, went a quarter in 27, and Henry MeDanicl let Polls canter three-eighths in 41. At least 100 two-year-olds worked on Iwtli tracks, eighths In about fifteen seconds making their exercise. The racing stable of W. A. Buck lias .arrived at Douglas Park in charge of trainer William Freeman, lie has Del Cruzador. Solus, Harlem Maid and Kopek. Mr. Buck is himself at Los Angeles. Kopek was freipient winner iu Mexico. Harlem Maid was formerly owned by Green B. Morris. She was one of the fastest fillies racing on the iuter-niountain circuit last year. Judge Charles F. Price lias arrived from Magnolia Springs. Ala., to await the opening of the Churchill Downs meeting on May 13, during which he Is to serve as presiding judge. John Ilachmeistcr, who left Magnolia Springs simultaneously with Judge Price, is now iu New Orleans and will be here the last of this month. Col. M. J. Winn is en. route here from British Vancouver. He will come home by way of St. Paul and Chicago and will be here about April 20 to take up his duties as general manager of the spring meeting. William Keagan, track superintendent of Churchill Downs, will arrive tomorrow from Covington. E. R. Bradley has notified Acting Secretary Edward Jasper that lie will ship nineteen liorses here. W. V. Casey, owner of Mamie Algol, has made application for live stalls. Edward Corrigau will come from lcnsacola with tou horses. T. C. McDowell and Martin Doyle, now at Lexington, will bring their complete stables here. Mr. McDowells Kings Daughter always races well at the Downs, J. L. Boss is coming from Norfolk with four horses and C. J. Ryan with ten. Among the horses W. C- Weaut bronght from Juarez is the local favorite, Otilo. It is probable that, the .racing string of Powell and Parker will be shipped here, now thai the meeting at Albuquerque, X. M., has been declared off. Among the liorses raced by this combination are Execute. Fred Mtilhollnud and Napa Nick. It is believed that close to 1.5O0 horses will be here when racing liegiUKatOhHrebill Downs- May--13. Acting Secretary Edward Jasper has received word from dipt. E. B. Cassatt, the Pennsylvania millionaire, that lie will ship his stable of eighteen liorses from Chesterbrook Farm, at Berwyn, Pa., to Churchill Downs on April 115. and oli! the same date trainer W. II.
