JACK BAKER set a fast pace for a mile and a half and tired, but came again and outstayed XEBEC in the final drive. The latter was a forward and game contender all the way. SAJE was moving up witli a rush when, lie fell on the turn out of the field to the track. TOM CAT went fairlv well. WALTER SCOTT ran in closest pursuit and made a game effort on the stretch turn, but tired in the last furlong. K1TTERY ran well, but tired under punishment and could never get up. MEXOAXA ran in forward contention all the way and was gaining slowly on the loader at the end. BESOM showed a great turn or speed for the first hair, but tired in the last furlong. The latter ran hi closest pursuit of the winner throughout, but was tiring at the end. BABY AVOLF began slowlv. but closed a big gap and finished with a rush. GOLDEX CASTLE finished with a rush alter closing a gap in the last half. IDLE MICHAEL finished gamely and had no opposition for third place. MUSKMELOX tired after going a half.
