TOM WELSH TO TRAIN FOR EDWIN GOULD. Now York. July 22. Edwin Gould has secured the services of Thomas Welsh, for years one of the foremost trainers on the metropolitan courses of this country, to train for him in France. Mr. Gould and Joseph" E. Widener were dickering for Welshs services during his visit to the French Republic, and it was only a few days ago that he accepted the Gould offer. Mr. Gould has decided to go into racing ou a big scale, and his colors will be seen In 1912. Mr. Welsh has departed for the. other side in a hurry on account of the coming yearling sales. His new employer will purchase at least fifty youngsters, and he desired his trainers opinion when the time came for selection.
