PLUNGE ON FANCY GOES WRONG. Anaconda. Mont., August 29. The cheaper class of horses had their innings today. Despite the lack of quality, the various races were well contested and formful racing resulted, three favorites and two well-hacked second choices being returned winners, much to the gratification of the public and the discomfiture of the layers, who suffered extensive losses on the days operations. The most sensational plunge of the meeting occurred in the sixth race, J. M. Barnes mare Fancy being the medium. She was backed from a high quotation of 8 to 1 until at post time 2 to 1 was barely obtainable. Whatever chance she may have had was spoiled by her unruly action at the post. She refused to break and finally, as the barrier arose, she bucked and when straightened away was so far behind the others that her chances were hopeless. For striking Rcgina Arvi over the head with his whip in the last race jockey Denny, rider of Sam Barber, was lined 0.
