HALTER MEN SHOW ACTIVITY. Two Run-Up3 and a Claim Mark Racing at Coeur dAlene Good Crowd Out. Spokane, Wash., September IS. A greatly increased attendance over that of previous davs. with the exception of the opening day and Saturday, greeted the beginning of the second week of racing at Coeur dAlene. The weather was perfect and speculation exceedingly brisk. Fourteen layers, exclusive of the field and combination books, cut in. Jessup Burn won the feature race, a .high-price selling sprint, in a drive with Elizabeth Iliirwood and Napa Nick. Napa Nick set the pace to the. stretch, where he weakened, allowing Jessup Bum and Elizabeth Ilarwood to fight it out. The racing generally was devoid of rough riding, the punishment meted out to several riders on Saturday by the judges having had a salutarv effect. Jessup Burn was bid up from 00 to ,000 by J. Krause, bis former owner, but was retained. Eliza-leth Ilarwood was claimed out of the fourth race for by W. B. Carson. Banorella was bid up from 1911.sh00 to ,000 by N. K. Moody and sold. Jockey MeEwon was suspended for three days for rough riding.
