Won driving; second and third the same. LITTLE EP, close up to the leaders from the start, took the lead in the last sixteenth and, standing a hard drive gamely, just, lasted long enough to win. MAD RIVER, shutlled back after the starts moved up steadily and got blear In the stretch and, finishing like a flash, just failed to get up. CATULA showed the most early speed and set the pace to the stretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. There was a jam in tin; first furlong and JINGO, SENATOR SPARKS and CAPITAN BRAVO fell. EL BART led for the first half, then gave way to WOOD DOVE and, when the latter bolted after passing the far turn, again went into the load and drew out with ease in the stretch. STAIRS was knocked about considerably and weakly ridden, but was a fast going second. WOOD DOVE ran well and would probably have won but for bolting. LADY ROSALIE was in a jam right after the start and closed up much ground in the last half mile. JACQUELINA ran a race worth remembering and closed a big gap in the last half mile. BLACK BRANCH showed speed and quit in the stretch. HATTEHAS closed a big gap. SEMI-QUAVER ran well to the stretch. EDDIE GRANEY quit. Overweights Hatteras 2 pounds.
