LATONIA TO GET STABLES FROM EAST. Cincinnati, 0., October 13. Yesterdays, arrivals from Louisville included Cherryola and others in the J. T. Ireland stable. Cherryola is to be a starter in the Inaugural Handicap to be run the opening day and her owner feels confident that she will repeat her last years achievement of winning" the race. She Is, acordiug to Mr. Ireland, rounding to her best form. Last year she wou the final stake race of the season at Churchill Downs, and followed with 1 a" victory the next dav at Latonia in the Inaugural Handlcaii. Mr. Ireland has suffered much ill-luck with Cherryola this season. lie had her ready to , start in the Kentucky Endurance Stakes at Louisville last Saturday, but through some misunderstanding . concerning her nomination, it was decided at the last minute that she should bo an absentee from the race. There were any number in the big crowd that witnessed the race on Saturday last i who shared Mr. Irelands view that had she started she would have been the victor. Mr. Ireland intends ; to mako amends by a determined try with the 1 danghtef of Tarizhieister Last Cherry, in the Latonia ; Endurance Stakes In last years- running of which Cherryola finished second, succumbing only in : thei last furlong to Capt. Mr. Maginn will telegraph those entered by owners I at Latonia, and Assistant Secretary J. B. Campbell, who will look after the entries at Louisville, will transmit those entered with him. . They will, he; shipped October 26 and in the lot will I come Star Charter, which finished second to Governor Gray in the Latonia Derby, and Edda, a frequent winner on the Canadian tracks this summer. Star Charter and Edda were both named for the ; Inaugural Handicap, but will, of course be absentees. Star Charters other engagements Include the Latonia Endurance Stakes, in which his owner announces . he will be a starter. Another big stable to come here from Maryland I 13 that of J. W. May. who is in charge of the horses owned by Frederick Johnson and J. G. Greener. The latter will try to win tho Endurance ! Stakes with Countless, which was an overwhelming ; favorite in this race last year, but brought up in i fourth place. Thomas C. McDowell, who is serving as presiding steward at the Laurel track and racing an extensive 5 string there, Is also likely to ship to Latonia at the close of tlnj Laurel meeting. Mr. McDowells horses have seldom missed engaging in meetings held at 1 Latonia and his colors are especially popular with 1 Olnclnnatians.
