BONNE CHANCE had to be hard ridden for the entire race, but drew out decisively in the last furlong. JOB DIE-BOLD showed the most early speed, but tired in the stretch racing. MADAM PHELPS finished well and was best of the others. STAR ROSE showed speed, but quit in the stretch. ALOOHA was outpaced all the way and disliked the going. UNION JACK, favored by the going and in good form, went into the lead on the stretch turn and, drawing far away, won in a canter. SlLVESTRIS ran a good race for her and. closing a gap, came with a rush throuh the stretch. DANFIELD, from a slow beginning and going wide, closed a great gap and iiuished fastest of all. JOHN GRIFFIN II. ran well to the stretch, but tired near the end. VENETA STROME ri-n poorly. GOLDEN EGG set a fast pace to the stretch and quit fast in the last quarter. AMORET ran poorly. SAM BARBER, prominent from the start, ran into the lead on the backstrctch and came away in the stretch to win in a canter. LEOPOLD ran a good race and, holding on gamely in the final drive, shook off SUPPLE fee second place with ease. The latter ran prominently throughout, but finished tiring. LADY LIGHTNING, running well in the going, took the lead quickly and, setting a fast pace for the going, held on gamely in the stretch and won easing up. SONADA ran well and, when hard urged in the stretch, responded gamely and took second place in the final stride. URSULA EMMA ran prominently and made a game effort all the way.. WHEELWRIGHT ran in closest pursuit to the stretch and but for going wide would have been second. WORTH suffered from some interference in the first quarter, but his weight told near the end and he was never dangerous. AMON was knocked back in the first three furlongs. The latter suffered from interference in the first half and finished gamely, but was tiring at the end. FLYING FOOTSTEPS showed the most early speed and tired when hard pressed In the stretch.
