IAT0NIA TRICK IS DELUGED CHANGED CONDITIONS LEAD TO DECLARING OFF OF OVERNIGHT HANDICAP. Race for Selling Platers Substituted and Is Won by Duquesne Worth and Sprite Likely to Heet in Special Race, Cincinnati, ., October 17. Jockey Henry redeemed himself partially bv brilliant riding on Tay Pay and Jim Gaffney. The last named was lucky to get up in time to beat Camel. A meeting between AAorth and Sprite is practically assured. Owner Hallenbeck signified his intention this morning of running his colt against Mr. Knnpps lilly for any amount under equitable conditions. Sev oral other owners have expressed a desire to run against the pair and General Manager Ilaehmeister lias practically arranged for a special race that will allow all the cracks to engage. The race is intended for Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, and the conditions probably will be announced tomorrow. Mr. Hallenbeck wanted to deposit 0,000 with John Hacluueistcr as a forfeit to run AVorth against Sprite Cor any amount. .Trainer ICarriek is equally as anxious to run and has.wirjtd Mr. Knapp to that effect. Mr. Karrick wauts a slight weight concession, which Mr. Hallenbeck is willing to make. The others likely to be named in the race are Anion. Sonada. Lady Lightning, Presumption. Ursula Emma and AVlicclwright. The owners of all these horses ot their authorized agents will be given opportunity to submit the weights they think should be carried. The weights assigned by the owners will afford Sec rotary Maginn a working basis from which to arrange weights equitable to all the horses. .loekeys Burton, Quinlan and Skirvin were each suspended for four days by the starter for disobedience at the post. Jockey Goose was suspended for six days by the judges for rough riding in the fifth race, lie attempted to interfere with Merry Lad and Tay Pay iu the stretch.
