ROCK SAND TO EEMAIN IN AMERICA. New Yqrk, October 17. Rock Sand, the "Triple Crown" winner, is destined for at least another vear at tlie Nursery Stud in Kentucky. So stated August Belmont, while with Mrs. Belmont, he watched a pair of Hastings yearlings in their final trial at the big course which bears his name. The opinion prevailed in some quarters that Mr. Belinont would ship the great son of Sainfoin Ro-quebrune and a number of choice matrons from the blue grass state to his establishment in France. As a matter of fact, such a report was sent out from Lexington. It was known that the failure of the Assembly to pass the Gittins bill was a disappointment to the cluiirmanof tlie Jockey Club. Farrier, a well-proportioned bay colt by Hastings Fairy Gold, thus a brother to Fair Play, worked with Beli-ay, a chestnut son of Hastings- Beldame. In previous trials Farrier could outrun and outstay Betray. Therefore it proved a surprise when Bel-ray finished in front yesterday. The quarter was covered in a fraction better than 24 seconds. Tlie Beldame colt has settled down and his maimer of moving showed vast improvement. He is a tall, rangy fellow and of the type that, goes on when fully- matured. On Wednesday last the following colts and fillies were, tried: Black Pine, blk. c, by Rock Sand Black Poplar, quarter in 26. Dandy Rock, b. c, by Rock Sand Donna Mia, quarter in 24. Mamibab, b. f, by Rock Sand Merry Token, quarter in 24. Rockvicw, b. c, by Rock Sand Golden View, quarter in" 23. Sud Vale, 1. f, by Rock SandLady Violet,, quarter in 24.
