BARNEY SCHREIBER LOSES A BROODMARE. Mexico City, Mcx., November 10. One of he largest crowds ever seen at the Coudesa course was present today, the last Sunday of the meeting. Clear weather a good card, and interesting racing re-" warded them The finish of the second race furnished the excitement of the afternoon. A field coiu-posedof AAooltex, Traymore, Forecaster, Yvonne and McAlan were off to an almost perfect start-, wooltex broke second, but quickly moved up and wade the pace all the way to the finish. On the turn into the long stretch, all the contenders with the exception of McAlnn were closely bunched, and It looked like anybodys race until within fifty yards of the end. In a spirited drive Wooltex outgamcd his opposition and finished first three-quarters of a length in advance of Traymore, which horse was closely followed by Forecaster and Yvonne, less than two lengths separating the quartet. The fourth race brought another easy victory for the Zivy stable, whose filly Extra Dry won in the same manner as her stable mate, La Luz II. captured the purse for Mexican two-year-olds last Thursday. The Hopper Stable supplied two winners today in Nyanza in tho first and Balronia in the fifth, both horses getting home first with oaso. II. R. Brandts Sebago won the last race from San Bcrnito and Johu Louis. Another sale was recorded here, John Lowe purchasing Butter Ball from Fred Hanlon for 00 gold. The Sehreiher shipment of thoroughbreds all arrived here safely, and but one loss has occurred subsequently. The broodmare Nance ONeil died In the sales paddock today. Considerable interest is manifested by local lovers of the thoroughbred in tho Schreiber shipment, and it is predicted that the representatives of Missouris famous stud sent here will all remain in Mexico under local ownership. A special train will convey the visiting horsemen and their racers to Juarez, leaving Mexico City Tuesday morning at 10:30. Besides the accommodation for tho horses, there will be three Pullman coaches for the turfmen. Colonel Winn preceded the special, having left today for the border city In order to be on the ground at the earliest possible moment to take up his duties there in connection with the meeting which will open at Juarez on Thanksgiving Day.
