NOTES OF THE TURF. Harry La Montagues Fred Keene won the Prix Dagnolet at the Vincenncs course in France Wednesday with OLeary In the saddle. There were seven horses in the race. The betting was 23 to 20. Mr. La Montagne also captured another first place bv winning the Prir Adamville with Chamerops, ridden by OLeary. The betting was 2 to 1, with seven horses in the race. We are not behind the English turf In all things. In this country we have not on Canadian Racing Associations courses any five-furlongs races for horses over two years old. What goes on at the half-mile tracks is not recognized racing, only a. burlesque. Nor is there occasion here for the following rule re cently presented to the Jockey Club by Lord Rose-bcry: "No person shall act or adjudicate as steward in a case where the running of a horse is involved in which ho has a pecuniary interest, and should any person so act the decision shall be invalidated, aud the case referred to the stewards of the Jockey Club to be reheard."
