GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington. Ky., November 24. William Oliver left here tonight for Benning with eleven yearlings, eight of which were purchased by J. S. Tyree, a Washington chemist, during the summer and fall and have since been at the farm of Charles W. Moore, and three of which Mr. Oliver bought this week for members of a New York drug firm who arc going into racing on a small scale. The yearlings are to be broken and kept going all winter at Benning. Upon the advice o Tommy Williams today,, S. T. Harbison took Diamond Flush out of a car load of thoroughbred mares intended for sale to planters in the south and will keep her. Diamond Flush is a young mare by St. Jullen that was consigned to the sale this week by R. W. Nelson of Jersey City and was bought by Mr. Harbison for 3. Young Williams has at the Kentucky Association track a smashing good yearling colt by Cedarstromo out of the mare and she is in foal again to the same horse. The Williams yearling has shown a quarter in a fraction better than 23. Elliot C. Cowdin left this morning for New York, G. W. J. Bissell returned to Pittsburgh and Lew Marion, former trainer of the Wheatcroft stable, who was also here for the sales, returned to Cincinnati.
