FAR WESTERN RACING OF 1912. Coeur dAleno Association to Hold Spring and Fall Meetings with Purses Greatly Increased. Spokane. Wash.. December 2. The directors of the Coeur dAIene Fair and Racing Association have virtually decided upon their racing program for 1912. It is planned to hold a spring meeting at the new track at Alan, Idaho, where racing was successfully inaugurated the past fall, during the thirty-seven days beginning with May 11. Application has been made to the Pacific Jockey Club for these dates and they have been duly allotted. The meeting will conflict throughout its entire length with that to be held at Lagoon, Utah, but as the latter track is nearly 1,000 miles away, the clasli will not seriously affect tho success of either meeting, in the opinion of the local racing management. The directors of tho Alan track would have preferred fo have arranged a meeting that would not conflict with any other in the west, but this is impossible because of the all-summer schedule already arranged for Lagoon, Butte and Anaconda. Following the spring meeting at Alan, the horses that engage in it will naturally go to British Columbia for the series of meetings, at Vancouver and Victoria, after which they will return hero for a fall meeting at Alan. The management of the Coeur dAIene Fair and Racing Association intend to make 00 the minimum purse value for the coming year and plan to increase the value of the Derby to ,000. The directors of racing at Vancouver have also virtually decided to give no purse of less than $:500, which will make the Idaho-British Columbia circuit attractive to owners of good horses. Stakes of good value will be opened at all of the tracks comprising tho circuit, and it is understood that the same olllcials will serve at the various tracks. The Coeur dAIene Fair and Racing Association, it is announced, will continue to race under the rules and jurisdiction of the Pacific Jockey Club as long as the latter organization exists and exercises a governing influence in connection with the sport on the Pacific slope.
