CONCERNING PROSPECTS IN MEXICO. A turfman who has recently returned to the United States from Mexico City gives it as his conviction that racing will eventually bo conducted on an elaborate scale in the Mexican capital and will become one of the great sports of the Mexican people. The recent meeting, he points out, was attended with satisfactory results in spite of numerous drawbacks. An inopportune time was chosen for the meeting, inasmuch as Mexico City is still In an unsettled condition, politically and otherwise, as an aftermath of the recent revolution. Most of the wealthy and, prominent residents of the Mexican capital are abroad at the present time awaiting-developments and those that have remained at home are disposed to keep In the background for the present, pending the outcome of the change in government. Col. XL .T. Winn, it is learned, will visit Mexico City early In, January to discuss with the horsemen of the capital the advisability of attempting a spring meeting foUowing the close of racing at Juarpz,
