LYNE, showing improvement and kept in the best going Tor the entire race, held ORPERTH safe in the final drive. The latter was; in the worst going and suffered from Interference in the early running, but finished fast. BILLY MURPHY was well up for the entire race. APPASSIONATA began slowly but, under strong urging, gained steadily and got up to win in tho last few strides. DOCTOR BODINE closed a gap into the lead and stayed lietter than was expected. LVD I A LEE ran well, but was in the licst going through the stretch. MOLLIE GIBSON went fairly well. LAPPELLE showed early speed. DANCEAWAY had no mishaps. CARLISLE M. quit and ran badly. SEWELL tired badly after showing high speed and sudden improvement for the first half. ROSEBURG II. closed a gap and was going fast at the end. RINDA was never prominent. HUSKY LAD, after being saved for the first half, moved up resolutely and, taking the good going In the stretch, ran into a big lead, only to tire near the end and swerve badly. SAGER was hard ridden most of tlo way and but for being kept in deep going for the first three furlongs might have won. STICKER quit after going a half mile in the lead. DOLLY BDLTMAN, showing vastly improved form, was well up for the iirst half and, finishing fast, drew away in the stretch to win easing up. HALDEMAN set the pace and raced V. POWERS into defeat, but tired in the stretch from his early efforts. V. POWERS ran well to the stretch, but quit badly in the last quarter. The others were beaten off for the entire race. WESTERN BELLE ran in the best going all the way and, taking the lead on the last turn, outgamed OTILO in the final drive. OTILO showed improvement under strong riding and ran well throughout. OAKLEY closed a gap and was tiring at the end. CLEM BEACHEY set the early pace and quit in the stretch. J. II. BARR was in the worst going all the way. THRIFTY showed speed, but quit.
