Tyn e is lhe sportsman in question, and he thinks so well of his band he is already consulting steamship time tables and freight schedules with a view of getting V. 1.. olive over there with his youngsters next fall. When she flattens down -he can run a quarter in :2:; or thereabouts, sin- is of the family of Semper Ego and Semper Cara. good race homes both. lhe Derby candidate of the Tvree -table is a colt by Hastings losic I.. This fellow is now a good-looklng yearling. Three times last fall he caught the eye of the judges of weanlings at Kentucky horse .-hows and won blue ribbons. Dr. Tyree will take the field ai Baltimore next spring with a stable of eighteen or twenty lior-e-. He does not just now figure on sending anything Io Norfolk in April, and if he i- represented there it will be by a precocious two year-old or so. The mature end of In- -table is strong, but he hanks principally on bis two-year-olds, several of which showed as well last fall as any youngsters tried over Ihe Benning course. Oliver thinks highly of a close coupled, blocky chestnut by Plaudit flnnrod. This youngster gal loped a quarter in :23ft at Baltimore last fall and is developing handsomely. There are colts by McGee out of Radiance and Flycatcher and by Royal Flush in. Pirate Polly. The other youngsters an fillies by McOee out of Gold Bose, White Plume ami Interview. The McGees are iii demand now that llorron. Irish Gentleman, Coy and others have sihown that lhe White Knight stallion, imported from Great Britain by Kdwurd Corrigan. can get good winners. Trainer Oliver believes Rolierr Bradley the beat of the Tyree two-year elds of 1912, will make a useful three-year old. and lhe MeGiv colt is to lie the I.Mee candidate in the Ireakness Stakes at Baltimore. The other three-year olds in Olivers charge arc Skeels, Corncracker. Kewassa and Abbottsford, the last named being the only Hippodrome three year-Old en this side of the Atlantic. The star of the older division of the stable is that hardy veteran. Superstition. Superstition was put oiil of business at Pimlico last fall on the eve of the running of the Bowie Slakes. jn which he had twice forced the winner io lower the American record for two miles to win, by an attack of acute indigestion. He is as chipiier as a two-year old now. His legs me in fine condition and trainer Oliver expects that he will race successfully again next season. In Yorkshire Boy. a strapping son of Yorkshire Lad. and Astrologer, a big Star Shoot colt. Dr. Tyree owns as good looking a pair of four-year-olds as a man might wish to see. Both went into winter quarters in the best of condition. Oliver predicts that it will take a good horse to beat the son of Star Shoot in races to come, and his high opinion of the colt is shared by John Madden, who has Star Shoot a I the head of hi- Hamburg Place stud in Kentucky. Mr. Madden was nt Benning last week and he pronounced Astrologer the handsomest individual by Star Snoot to be found on an American track. This was Miuielhing of a compliment, for Mr. Madden is the man who developed t Hole, a .-on of Star Shoot Mid the Niece, and sold him to Sam Hildreth at Saratoga in 1!K7 for 830,000. Mr. Madden has advised Dr. Tyree to keep Astrologer for stud Service. Star Shoot js now the leading sire of America and his blood is sure to exert a big influence on the American racer of the future. Dr. Tyree has for next season and seasons to come a promising lightweight iu D. Hoffman, who is being developed by Oliver.
