Allie Loudon came from Hamilton and Manager Albert Rohrbach of Buffalo was iu attendance, as well as other officers if the club from oilier cities. The directors visited the new park for the purpose of making an Inspection of the plant. Interesting announcements will likely be made in a few days. The weather aaa been bitterly cold, but work is still proceeding at Connaiight Park. The stables are completed, and the clubhouse and grandstand ready for the opeu ing. The only difficulty experienced was that in connection Willi the grading, but as MM as the snow is off the ground several hundred men will be put to work levelling off the ground within the on.-mile circuit. There is now stabling at Connauglif Iark for 900 horses. All the work possible will lie continued throughout the winter. The book of eondi lions will be issued within a short time. The inaugural meeting is to be held from June 14 to 51, ami it is now certain that no postponement will be necessary. With a reasonably early spring the plant will be entirely completed by June 1. The pr -gram for the inaugural meeting will be an elaborate one. Montreal ami Toronto men were here a fortnight ago for the purpose of arranging for the operation of a smaller race meeting over a new half-mile track, which they proposed to erect on the Hull silk, but the plan, according to officers of the Hull Driving Club, who were supposed to be co-operating, has been dropped. The Connaiight Park director.-., who constitute the leading citizens of the capital, were decidedly opposed to the plan, as they considered that the introduction of the minor racing would affect the big meeting in June, which will tie opened by His Royal Highness the Duke of Connaiight.
