RACING AT SANTIAGO AND VALPARAISO. Here in Valparaiso, says an Australian resident of the chief city of Chili, at times things are slow, as racing is carried on for three months only, viz.. January. The Australian horses have done well in the past, and there is no reason why more should not find their way over, as anything smart over half a mile to seven furlongs can pick up a fair stake within the season. Nine hundred metres, which is four and a half furlongs, and 1,100 five and a half furlongs seem to be all the rage.
