Mr. Campbell has a stud of fourteen mares m Cauada. At the head of his stud is the stallion Gay Roy, bv St. Saviour, out of Orlie, by Deceiver. He is aNo matins some of his mares to Joe Nealon. a son of Kismet bv Melton and Ronita R., by Apache. He lias placed Joe Nealon back m training this vear. however. Mr. Campbell lias a stable of" live horses which he is training himself at Rarrie, as follows: Jacorno. b. li. 10. by Gerolslein Vanish. Joe Nealon. Hi. h, 9, by Kismet Ronita K. Stokes, of trotting horse fame, is planning to race a small stable of thoroughbreds this season. Mr. Stokes in his youuger days was quite a steeplechase rider. William Steele, who is training a public stable at the Kentucky Association course, lias two in charge for James C. Rogers that are looking well. John E. Madden has purchased rrom Oatesby WoodTord for ,250. the chestnut colt by Plaudit Olive Kant, lry Leonatus, out of Arcadia, by Hin- doo. This is considered one of the best of Plaudits get. Leonatus heing a Levity horse, this colt has tho same nick that produced Plaie Glass, Christo-phine, etc. Manola Mason dam of McChcsney. First Mason. MeKittridge, Wise Mason, La Souor, etc., by Top Gallant Katherine M.. died last week while foaling. R. F. Guthries two-year-old hay colt by St. Savin The Pet. has fully recovered from his recent injury and is going along promisingly at the Kentucky Association track.
