KEEN INTEREST IN DENVER REVIVAL. Denver Col March 2S. The announcement of a nineteen-davs mixed harness and thoroughbred minting to be held from Saturday, June 13. lo Saturday Julv 4, at Overland Park in this city, has aroused great interest throughout the racing world. 8o nianv- inquiries concerning the re-establishment of racin" at the famous Colorado course have been made that the following facts are presented: Bacing in Colorado is now conducted under the control and supervision of the Colorado State Lacing Commission appointed late in 3913 by Governor Elias M. Amnions. This commission comprises live members, two of whom are from Denver County and the others from other counties in the state. J. A. Burnett, a prominent Denver business man and former president of the Gentlemens Driving and Biding Club is chairman of the commission. Dr. M .1 Dur.leavv, a leading veterinary, is the other Denver member. .1. L. Beaman of the Pueblo. Col., State Pair, is secretary. The other members are Dr. 0. L. Silver of Lamar, and Dr. A. P. Drew of Grand Junction. . Meetin" in .Tanuarv, this commission organized and adopted a set of rules which closely follow in practicallv all details the code of the Kentucky State Racing Commission. This commission has "ranted to W. A. Head, a prominent business man of Vancouver B. C, a license to conduct a niue-teen-days meeting in the fall. Mr. Bead has a five-year lease, with option of purchase, on the Overland Park property. Improvements which are expected to approximate 0,000 are already under way at the track. Leighton, for the past eighteen years prominently connected with successful thoroughbred meetings in California and the northwest in various capacities, has been appointed racing secretary and is already on the job witli an office at room 130, Albanv Hotel, this city. It is possible that the Denver Fair and Bacing Association will also conduct short mixed meetings at Pueblo Col., and Cheyenre, Wyo.. shortly before or lust after the Denver spring meeting. Ed Tribe for many vears associated with starter A. B. Dade, and himself well known for his high grade work at the barrier, will be the starter for the running races.
