FRENCH JOCKEY VICTIM OF WAR. Paris, October 14. The noted jockey. Alec Carter, a captain in the French dragoons, was killed at the head of his command during a recent engagement. He lay on the battlefield two days before being picked up dead with wounds all over his liody. Capt. Carter originally came to France as an Englishman and was naturalized.
