KING GEORGES GREAT TWO-YEAR-OLD. By virtue of winning the Middle Park Plate at Newmarket last Friday, and defeating the even-money favorite Redfern, Kiug Georges Cicero Prim Nun colt Friar Marcus, has stamped himself quite the best of his year in England and has yet to know defeat. He is beyond doubt a grand colt aud, if he winters well and holds his form, may prove quite capable of giving King George the joy his- father experienced when he led Minora back to the weighing-in stand after his triumph in the Epsom Derby of 1909. Friar Marcus was second choice at 2 to 1, while the Duke of Westminsters Manx man, which finished third, was at 20 to 1. So far Friar Marcus has won In succession the Maiden Two-Year-Old Plate at Newmarket, April 2S; Wood-cote Stakes at Epsom. May 28: Prince of Walea Stakes at Goodwood. July 30; Rous Memorial Stakes at- Newmarket, October 2. and the Middle Park Plate, October 10. His total earnings in the five races are close to 5,000. He is heavily engaged next year.
