THE It IM P, after being saved behind the leaders to the stretch, responded gamely when called on and outstayed J. II. HOUGHTON. The latter, showing sudden improvement, began slowly, but gained steadily after working his way up on the outside. BATTERY was cut off on the turn out of the back-stietcli when LOU LANIER dropped back, but slipped through on the Iuside when entering the homestretch s;nd almost got up in 11 game linish. MYCENAE tired after racing into the lead on the last turn. LOU LANIER set the pace to the backstretch. then quit. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. FLY HOME, off forward., forced the pace to the stretch turn, where he easily passed MISS FRANCES, but had to be hard ridden at the end to outstay REFLECTION. The latter began slowly and moved up rapidly in the first eighth, but was tiring in the final strides. DR. CANN came througltion the inside and finished fast and gaining. PEG closed a big gap and was on the outside for the entire way. VOLANT and ONAR ran well. MISS FRANCES set a good early pace, but quit. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. PROGRESSIVE ran a good race and outstayed GALAXY in the final drive. The latter was off slowly, but closed a big gap whEe racing on tlie outside all the way. DICKS PET was lame when going to the post, but showed speed and raced into the lead on the strectli turn. FRANK HUDSON set the early pace, but failed to stay. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. LILLIS was off badly and. having worked his way up on the outside, came through the homestretch with a rush. HUMILIATION ran well, but came wide when entering the homestretch and lost ground: MATER and LOHENGRIN showed speed, but tired in the stretch drive. The winner was entered for 1914.sh00; nt bid.
