Added starters are always liable to crop up in stake races over eastern tracks and persons concerned should keep that fact iu mind. In speculation elsewhere added starters count for nothing except as factors in tlie betting. This is the case of Jaelic aud Sarsenet recently. Sarsenets backers would win, but at such a reduced price as would result from the deduction of Gaelics price. This is in case the layer had not given notice that added starters run for him. This is tlie practice in some localities and then payment is as tlie horses finish, in tlie other case Sarsenet would pay at 8 to 0 and llausou place and. show at 3 to 2 and 1 to 2.
