WELDSHIP. after being a forward contender from the start, wore the leaden- down in-the homestretch and finished going away. MARTIN CASCA was much used in forcing the pace and tired in the-final ttiides. DAKOTA ran well and finished gamely. HOLLAND quit when challenged after showing the most early speed and setting the pace to the last eighth. LITHAUER made up ground and was running fast at the end. CHASER showed speed. BROWNIE GIRL also fenced well, but quit in the last quarter. SINGLE STICKS rider fell off when his liionnt swerved at the last fence. BRUSH fell at the ninth fence. THORNHILL tired after disposing of HARRY SHAW and racing into the lead on the last turn. The latter saved ground on all the turns while the others ran wide, but tired after setting the pace to the last turn. The winner was entered for : no bid. FLY IIOMIi ran well and easilv disposed of STAR OF LOVE in the homestretch. The latter came wide into the stretch and tired after sliowiug a good turn of speed. AALAS closed a gap.
