STARTER M0RRISSEY LEAVES HOSPITAL. Lexington, Ky., Much 22. — Starter Harry Mot-rissey, convalescing from pneumonia, left st. Josephs hospital today and is at his home at Kempland Farm. Dr. McKee today stated he will be abb- to preside at the barrie-r when the spring ra lag season opens here- April 27. It is expected that the committee of nine appointed by the Kentucky State Pacing Commissi, .n to formulate a schedule for proposed longer eiis lance races, will hue un interesting discussiou when it meets here tomorrow morning. Ju Ige William H. Shelley has been retained by the Kentucky Association to perform the duties of racing secretary, as heretofore for several years. He is expected here tomorrow from Louisville. In this connection secretary C. 1. Wilson today said: "When I was in Louisville Monday Walter Pearee requested of me a list of our stake nominations, saying that he wanted them for use in the- preparation of* our program book. I told Pearee that Shelley would prepare Lexingtons program as usual. He informed me he had been advised by a member of the Kentucky State Racing Commission that he is raciag secretary for Kentucky tracks until his successor is appointed. I tild Peare-e that Shelley had been appointed last year for Lexington and we had decided to continue him in office-. I then referred him to Senator Camden, who is president of the- Kentucky state- Lacing Commission. If president Camden thinks we should pay Pearee a salary as racing ■eerctery, I presume we may do so. but it is settled that Mr. Shelley will do the work for us." Markland, the two-year-old bay colt by Trans -van] Lady Boa, belonging to s. K. Hughes, this morning unseated his rider and ran into the fence at the Kentucky Association course, but was not s rionsly injured.
