MR. MACOMBERS YEARLINGS BY UNCLE. Lexington. Ky., May 24. — The star of the seven vearlings A. K. Macomher purchased last week from Hal Price Headley and W. P. Miller probably will prove to be the magnificently-pro| or-tioned chestnut colt by Cncle Planutess. daughter of Planudes son of St. Simon and Countess Wanda, by Loyalist. This colt is a "picture horse." There is no mistaking his quality, lie displays it from whatever aspect one ol s. rves him. Mr. Headley did not divulge the price paid by Mr. Macomher for the seven sons and daughters of Cncle. nor did he mention the figure at which any individual one of the collection was sold, but a guess at .510 as the value for this Planutess colt probably would not be fi:cing the price too high. It is likely that Mr. Macomher would not consider an offer of 0,000 for him right now. The dam of this colt was a winner for three years and in her two-year-old form won ten races. Her first foal is the two-year-old Qaaea of the Water by Waterboy. She lias at her side a handsome filly by Cncle. After one sees the sire and the dam. it is not at all difficult to understand why the produce is so marly perfect. The colt out of the English mare Genius dam of the winners John Pendcrg.ist and My Genii is a big. styiish fellow with plenty of bone and substance ami will win ra-es, but probably not early. The Xareo colt is a sure-shot race horse. He has a poorly -proportioned head, inasmuch as it is decidedly elongated and the nose somewhat Roman, but he haa so many really good Batata that one soon forgets about the head. He is a bay with black points. Caro Nome is a half-sister to this colt. The Princess Oma colt, which is a half-brother to Moonlight ami indolence, is a plaitiish fellow, but possesses good bone and plenty of substance. He is a bay. The bay filly out of Star Dreamer dam of the winners Skyward. Fandango Pocotaligo, Alpine. Gardenia ami Aguila. is the pick of the three of Cncles daughters selected by the owner of Star Hawk. She is a really fine filly, sensible and compactly made. The chestnut filly out of Lydia II. dam of Judge Lassing. Lydia Lee, Colonel Cook. Margaret Lowry and Category is stoutly made and of a durable type. The chestnut filly out of School Mistress half-sister to Sain, is lightly made, but racier looking than her half-sister Auriga, which is a two-year-old winner this year. The big-boned, powerfully- constructed son of lack Atkiu and Dentifrice, which was purchased last week by II. K. Kuapp, and the racy-looking, though quite fat. hay filly by Dade — Dorval. now the property of Schuyler L. Parsons, are both desirable thoroughbreds. Mr. Headley retained the half-brother to Pulse. :: chestnut colt by Cncle — Nethersole dam of Manager Mack also, by Tournament. He is not so gross in his construction as is his illustrious half-brother and probably will prove to have more stamina. A real race horse remaining unsold is the son of Jack Atkin— Ruby Nethersole, a half-sister to Pulse. He is a brown and looks much like his sire. He is not fat and therefore unattractive to the average buyer who has lieen accustomed to making his selections at the sale ring, but he will readily fill the eyes of any man who frequently sees the yearlings in condition for training. The mares and foals at Beaumont Farm are in knee deep blue grass pastures .uul they look healthy and contented. The stallions Cncle. Jack Atkin and Buck horn are having busy seasons, but are in good bodily condition.
