PROMISING OPENING AT D0RVAL PARK. Biff Crowd Turns Out to View Good Racing — Schemer Wins the Feature Contest. Montreal. Que.. May 29. — Norman Macfarlanes consist. -nt Schemer accounted for the Caiighnnwaga Handicap, the feature event of the opening days program offered bv the Dorval Jockey Club. He was ridden by A. Mott. came from behind in the stretch and won going away by a comfortable margin over S,|lieeler. A steeplechase over the two-mile course was one of the attraction;. It was the lirst jumping race ever run over the Dorval course and aroused much enthusiasm. I.. W. He has three steeplechasers t 1 • and four flat racers, among them the good jumper Garter. Mr. McCafferty has disposed of Zodiac ami Rip Van Winkle to T. Daly. T. Parretto bos sold at private sale to William Stormont the racers Scaramouch, Dryad and Bay-bourn.
