H. G. BEDWELL CAPTURES TWO RACES. Batwa Wins a Race and a New Owner — Dorval Track Begins to Dry Out. Montreal. Que., May 31. — The Itedwell stable again scored a double at Dorval this afternoon when Sonny Itoy and Flying Feet won. Doth horses were ridden by S. Wolstcnliolm and both were first choices in the betting. Sonny 15oy had to stand a hard drive to boat Hearthstone "by a neck. Flying Feet ame from last place in his race and Is-at Phil Mohr by a length. .Mr. Mack was in dose quarters at the finish in this race and Kobinsc.n was forced to pull him up. Tin- finish of the fifth race was the best of the afternoon. Kendel and Wodan fighting it out closely through the homestretch and Dishmou aiaaagtag to laud lfendel in front by the shortest of margins in the final strides. The first ruu-up of the meeting cuine utter P.atwa won the fourth race. He was advanced 00 bv G. Phillips, whose Dr. Kendall finished second. W. Walker let Batwa go when Phillips bid 00. The track dried out a bit as the afternoon progressed and by tomorrow, providing no more rain falls, the footing should be considerably improved. Todays attendance showed a big increase over that of yesterday and speculation was keen. Edward Trotter arrived at Blue Uonnets tiiis morning with the five horses he raced at Woodbine. Several horses that were stabled at Dorval have moved over to Blue- Bonnets, among them those of James Arthur, A. L. Austin Bad Edward Mc-Brhte. Duke of Dunbar was ordered withdrawn from the fourth race as tin- hoise was ineligible, having won two races since March 1. T. J. Shannon has turned Casio over to J. O. Burt tsch ell. The latter has also taken up the mar- Ciyst il feir George Smith of Toronto. J. M. Shilling and J. D. Misick. who arrived from Tijuana with their horses, will remain for the rest of the rating season on the minor circuits in Canada. A force of men was put to work on the infield early this morning and ly the afternoon they had it in fairly good condition.
