ANOTHER RACE TRACK AT NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans, La.. May 31. — Negotiations that an" expected to result in the establishment of a rival New Orleans race track on the property of the Home Puilders Pealt.v company in Jefferson Parish on some fifty odd squares of land adjoining the Seventeenth street canal and about 2.5M feet in ttte rear of the Metairie road are on lictwcon local representatives of H. D. Curley Grown and C. S. Gen-oil. vice-president and general manager of the Home Puilders company. The price of the priqierty was not disclosed, but admissions were made that the deal is under way. S. V. Kdmiston. secretary of the company, said: "We cannot give out anything definite. Mr. Corson is out on the pro| orty at this time." It is reported that the promoters of the rival race track intend to establish racing here Novemlier 1. next. The property will In- improved with the usual equipment so as to lie ready for the iqieniiig of the meeting by Novemlier 1. Mr. Drown manages the Oriental Park race track at Havana, and it is asserted that it is his plan to operate the track until New Years Eve and close it until the eud of the Havana meeting, which generally continues aUiut sixty days. He will then reopen JUarch 15 and continue racing until May 15. This will not conflict with the meeting of the Pusinoss Mens Racing Assoeiation, which opens Jauuarv 1 I and closes early in March. I
