CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Grasp closed at 18 to 5 in race 26477. Jockey E. Pool is riding with much success at Tijuana. Emil Hera claimed Flag Day for 00 at P.elmont Park Monday. J. W. May is about to ship his stable from Kentucky to Aqueduct. Frank P. Smith of Baltimore has purchased the eight-year-old gelding Iniou Jack from G. P. Sherman. John Randolph claimed the horse Orimar Lad for S425. when he was beaten in a selling race at Tijuana. May 26. R. F. Carman has arrived at New York from Toronto, but will shortly return to participate further in racing on the Canadian circuit. Perthshire, the eight-year-old son of Caughnawaga and Perth, has seen the last of his racing days. He pulled up so lame in a recent start at Jamaica that he will be retired. He is a Sanford-bred stallion and should prove useful for stud duty. The following ruling was made by the judges and stewards at Tijuana, May 20: "Mai Doyle, owner of Finnigan. Wnxcmall and Valodolid. has lieen ordered away from the course with his horses. Doyle, while in a critical mood, visited the judges and made a number of insinuations and veiled charges which he refused to substantiate. In consequence, he was told to betake himself elsewhere." Mont Plane, in the stable of George W. Wing-filed, is accounted the most promising two-year-old at Tijuana. He is a son of Grey Leg that was thrown in for good measure when Mr. Wing-fields representative made some important purchases in- England last year. The Tijuana division of the Wingfield stalde is in the hands of Walter S. Heath, who formerly trained for Charles W. Clark. Condition liooks for the first summer meeting at tin- Hamilton track have been issued and they attracted much attention at the P.elmont Park course Monday. The Hamilton Derby with ,000 added is the feature of this meeting, which opens June 24. This stake has attracted thirty -seven nominees, the chief of these lieing llarrv lavnc Whitneys Promo. Chicle and Slipshod and James Putters Spur. The National Handicap lias an added value of S2.MMI and P.orrow. Pegret. Pennant. Rancher and many other fast horses are named for this stake. ;
