ARNOLD took the lead quickly and was hard urged in the early running, then was taken under restraint while rounding the far turn and gamely held sway to the end. CAMPFIRK seemed sluggish and was under punishment while rounding the last turn, but could i ever get up. TOM McTAGGART slip ed through next to the rail and finished fast and gamely. ILLUMINATOR followed in closest pursuit and moved Dp menacingly after entering the homestretch, but tired finally. ROSE WATER finished fast and outstayed DANCES. The latter showed excellent speed and the race should improve him. The winner was entered for ,000: no bid.
